About GDFWG
Gulf Diabetic Foot Working Group
Over a Decade of Empowering Healthcare Professionals Across the Gulf to Prevent and Manage Diabetic Foot Complications Through Science, Training, and Collaboration.
Our Story
The Gulf Diabetic Foot Working Group (GDFWG) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to transforming diabetic foot care across the Arabian Gulf. Established on December 25, 2012, and officially launched on November 14, 2013, during the 4th International Diabetic Foot Conference in Dubai, UAE, GDFWG bridges the gap between scientific research, clinical practice, and regional health policy. We represent a unified regional alliance spanning six member countries United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and the Sultanate of Oman.
Diabetic foot complications present a complex medical challenge that demands seamless collaboration across specialties. GDFWG brings together a multidisciplinary network of leading endocrinologists, diabetologists, vascular surgeons, podiatrists, wound care specialists, primary care physicians, and researchers. By fostering cross-border dialogue and sharing clinical insights, we ensure that healthcare providers across the GCC are equipped with modern, standardised protocols.
